Instructions for Convocation 2024

Congratulations! All eligible graduands of 2024 Batch are welcome to
the Convocation Ceremony to be held on 6th July 2024 1.30 pm, at
Dr. D.G.S Dhinakaran Centre. |
| 2. |
Arrangements for accommodation (from 5th evening to 7th July 10.00
am) will be made in the hostels on request. For any queries the following
phone numbers can be contacted:

Transport facilities will be provided from Gandhipuram bus stand (Near
Tamilnadu Hotel) from 5.00 am to 10.00 am on 6th July 2024 for the graduands
and their family members. |

Registration for the Convocation will be done from 08.30 am to 11.30 am.
During registration the graduands will be issued lunch coupon and badge
(with the allotted seat number) in Emmanuel Auditorium. Registration will be
closed at 11.30am. |
| 5. |
Convocation robes shall be provided near Registration Counter against a
refundable deposit of Rs.500/- from 8.30 am to 11.30
am. |
| 6. |
After registration, the graduands are permitted to visit the Institute
Departments along with their parents and guests. |
| 7. |
Lunch will be served from 11.30 am to 12.45 pm at JMR Mess dining hall. |
| 8. |
Dress Code:
Gents : Shirts with full sleeves, tucked in with tie and shoes.
Ladies : Sarees / Churidar / Salwar |
| 9. |
Graduands who do not report on time for the ceremony in proper dress code or
who do not follow the Institute code of conduct shall not be permitted to
attend the Convocation. However such graduands can collect their degree
certificates from the COE Office an hour after
the completion of the ceremony. |
| 10. |
The graduands shall receive the robes at the Emmanuel Auditorium
before 11.30 am and shall occupy the allotted seats with proper dress code by
1.30 pm. The robes and seats will not be available to any graduands after
the above mentioned time. |
| 11. |
The Chancellor shall preside over the ceremony and handover the degree
certificates to all graduands. |
| 12. |
The Chancellor will be available on the stage after the ceremony is over to
take photographs with graduands. |
| 13. |
Parents / Guests shall not interact with the graduands once they are seated
and they are supposed to be seated till the Institute procession
recedes. |
| 14. |
All the graduands shall remain standing during the Procession of
Dignitaries, Oath taking, National Anthem and University Anthem. |
| 15. |
The graduands must switch off their mobile phones and hand it over to their
parents before the ceremony. Mobile phones are not permitted in the
graduands
area. |
| 16. |
All the graduands shall maintain decorum during the Convocation Ceremony.
They shall remain in their seats till the entire ceremony is over. |
| 17. |
Parents / Guests are requested to follow the decorum of the ceremony. |
| 18. |
Photography by visitors, parents, guests or graduands is not allowed.
Convocation photos shall be taken by the official photographer and will be
uploaded in the Karunya website. |

All are invited for the Graduation Tea which will be arranged after the
Ceremony at Dr. D.G.S Dhinakaran Centre for the graduands, parents and
guests. |
