The University has proven ability and adequate set up for conducting all its examinations. The office of the Controller of Examination has all the facilities such as computer facilities ,strong room and adequate staff to conduct the examinations and publish the results. The central valuation system is followed. Dummy numbers are used to maintain confidentiality. The institution follows a very clear, well- planned calendar which schedules the examination. Evaluation is on the basis of both continuous internal assessment(40 %) and external end semester examinations(60%). Using an office automation system the teacher can key in internal assessment and laboratory marks in to the central data bank at the Controller’s office within a stipulated time. Final results are normally announced within a month of the last examination. The components of the internal assessment (quiz, tests, term papers, etc.) and their weightages are published every year in the beginning of the year and the students themselves can compute their internal marks based on their performance. At the end of the semester, the internal marks are displayed so that the students can verify their marks. Question paper setting: Only external faculty members who are experts in the subjects and recognised as paper setters/examiners in their parent University are selected as question paper setters/examiners. The panel includes examiners from IIT, Anna University, RECs, Deemed Universities, Government Aided Engineering Colleges and Self-financing colleges. The level 3 subjects will have Double valuation and the rest single valuation. The following facilities are given to the students who are under single and double valuation:
These facilities are available on payment of prescribed fee. The entire fee is refunded if there is a change of grade. Publication of the Results:1. After the valuation the results will be submitted to the Result Passing Board for approval. 2. The results are displayed in the Karunya website http://www/karunya.ac.in on the same day of publication. 3. The students and parents can verify their results, attendance internal mark etc. in the Internet. |
